📍kong bar and roof garden (3)
date: tuesday 8 october 2024
Kong bar and roof garden is a relatively new cocktail bar in the city centre of Glasgow. It has a stunning, modern interior, reasonable prices and is the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a date night. It is roughly a 5 minute walk from both Glasgow queen street and Glasgow central train stations, making it easily accessible for students who live in or around Glasgow.
Kong’s prices definitely depend on when you go. At peak times, the prices are similar to many other cocktail bars in Glasgow, with the classics such as mojitos, margaritas and martinis being priced at about £10. Although this may seem like a lot, the cocktails are beautifully presented, and it is difficult to find cheaper prices for similar quality cocktails anywhere else in the city centre. During the week (Monday-Thursday), Kong offer specific cocktails for low prices. You can get drinks such as passionfruit martinis, watermelon margaritas and cosmopolitans for as little as £6. If you book a table in Kong, you keep the table for 2 hours therefore can expect to spend roughly £50 depending on what day of the week you go and how much you are able to drink. When we went, I ended up spending £42 on 6 cocktails on a Tuesday night.
If amazing atmosphere and interior are something you look for in a cocktail bar, Kong is the place for you. The rooftop bar takes on a botanical/jungle theme with greenery all around as well as stunning lighting and a live DJ at times. The bar downstairs has a different look and goes for a more gold and purple colour scheme, making it look expensive and elegant. The décor, lighting, and music create a great atmosphere overall.
Overall Kong is a reasonably priced, stunning cocktail bar where you can expect to have a great night out any day of the week.
