📍glasgow botanic gardens (1)

 date: november 2024

The Glasgow Botanic Gardens are one of my favourite places to go in the Westend of Glasgow as I have been going here from a very young age. No matter the season I think it is always a great thing to do if you're looking for a free activity in Glasgow. During parts of October and November it is used for the Halloween trail 'GlasGLOW' which costs money to do, but apart from that it is completely free. The gardens have both outdoor and indoor parts meaning it is open all year round and great to visit throughout the seasons.

Personally, I think that the Botanic Gardens are the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a completely free day out as well as something a bit different than anything else you would find around Glasgow. Whilst you can visit all year round, my favourite time to visit is on a warm summers day when you can sit on benches or on the grass. I also enjoy going in early autumn and walking around many of the paths and trails around the garden. Although it’s free to enter, there is a snack van located at the entrance that serves food, teas and coffees as well as other things. There are often other things to do there apart from just looking at the gardens such as craft fairs and educational lectures if that’s the kind of thing you are interested in.

Overall, I think it’s a great thing to do if you are wanting to spend little to no money and are looking for something more active and fun to do.
